Tech Forum December 2015 Update

A Note from the Board

As 2015 comes to a close, we take time to reflect on an exciting year for the Technology Forum of Delaware.

At our gatherings on the third Wednesday of each month we had the opportunity to make new connections, strength existing relationships, and discover exciting new technologies being developed in our region. Highlights included:

  • The enthusiastic audience at 1313 Innovation for our second annual Idea Challenge in February cheering on teams that created concepts to improve the quality of life in the city of Wilmington with the help of technology and collaboration.
  • Our inaugural celebration in May showcasing regional tech leaders that are advancing the world’s Top Technology Trends. A sell-out crowd of 300 joined us at Capital One for demos and presentations on the latest in digital finance, additive manufacturing, digital healthcare and much more.
  • Tech Forum’s presentation on “The State of the Delaware Technology Community” to a receptive audience of technology, business and government leaders during Delaware Innovation Week in November. We examined four pillars critical for a healthy environment for growth and innovation – Talent, Collaboration & Support, Funding and Brand.
  • Celebrating Tech Forum’s 15th Anniversary of supporting a vibrant and thriving tech community with our members, sponsors, past and present board members, and friends in December.

Tech Forum has an even more exciting year planned for 2016 to help you gain the knowledge, resources and connections to be successful. We’ll kick off the New Year exploring What’s Happening in Emerging Technologies, take a road trip to the world’s premier makerspace in Philadelphia, and meet FinTech innovators in our community. Our third annual Idea Challenge returns in March, and we have a very special Top Tech Trends showcase planned for June.

Thank you to all our sponsors and members for your continued support of the Technology Forum of Delaware.

We wish you much success in the New Year!

Rick Sommer
President, Technology Forum of Delaware
