Tech Forum Board Members to Judge Congressional App Challenge http://www.doverpost.com/article/20160111/news/160119966

U.S. Rep. John Carney, D-Delaware, recently announced the panel of judges for his Congressional App Challenge, including Tech Forum President Rick Sommer and Treasurer Dennis DeBevec.
Carney’s challenge is designed to provide students a chance to learn programming concepts, entrepreneurial lessons and skills based on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

At its annual holiday event at the University and Whist Club on Wilmington, the Technology Forum of Delaware honored its founders as it celebrated a decade and a half of work in the key sector of the economy.
The organization, founded as Digital Delaware, survived the technology bubble and opted for a new name that better reflected its mission that includes networking, seminars, educational events and more recently idea competitions.

There is a strong demand in the Delaware technical community for professionals with specialized skills and a track record for success, but not enough applicants to fill the roles. In addition, the First State’s tech landscape boasts a collaborative support network and financing opportunities for entrepreneurs, but incubator spaces aren’t filled to capacity and investors say they still lack enough “fundable” ideas in Delaware.
